Phase Change Material

PCM or Phase Change Material is a wax-based heat conducting material. It is solid when delivered and available in various material thicknesses and delivery forms.

Our PCM materials are based on wax, are solid when delivered and start flowing at temperatures between 50°C and 60°C. This compensates microscopic unevenness between the heat source and the heat sink, thus ensuring optimum heat transfer resistance.

Phase Change Material is available in different thicknesses.

Electronic components are dependent on good heat transfer towards the cooling components, as they are sensitive to overheating. As soon as the phase change material reaches its phase change temperature and liquefies, surface roughness is compensated and air inclusions are expelled, improving surface contact and enabling increased heat exchange. Thermally conductive phase change material is therefore an ideal substitute for thermal paste. The most common applications are notebooks, desktop CPUs and IGBT units.

  • Smoothes out microscopic unevennesses
  • High volume resistance of 10^13 Ohm*cm
  • Adhesive, flexible and easy to use
  • Standard 400x300 mm plates or custom die-cuts
  • Available in different thicknesses

The phase change material of our TCPC series is sticky by nature, flexible and very easy to use. The material is available in different material thicknesses, in various colors and in various delivery forms, such as standard plates with 400x300 mm or customer-specific punched parts. More details can be found in our product specifications and in our data sheets.
