EMC shielding and thermal management in medical technology

Application examples
Shielded windows are basically used to attenuate high-frequency electromagnetic radiation and simultaneously guide visible light through a window. They are installed in the medical sector in MRI/CT and X-ray rooms.
Electrically conductive elastomers are used between the housing shells in sensor-based blood glucose meters that are attached to the arm over a longer period of time. This ensures the necessary properties. In addition the sensor is protected against water and dirt. Values up to 68 can be achieved.
Silver-coated metal parts, such as contact springs, are often used in operating elements and offer optimized protection. Silver has antibacterial properties and is therefore perfect for medical technology. In addition to silver, a variety of different surface coatings are available.
Tin and gold are commonly used for SMD contact springs due to their excellent solderability, which in turn are installed on circuit boards in all medical devices such as electrotherapy or ECG devices.
